MAID: "Mr. Sky, the doctor wishes to see you."

MR. SKY: "Yes, of course..."

THE FIRST film by Cassius Matthias was inspired by excerpts from Diane Taylor's pioneering research into the issue of London's male prostitution scene that appeared in the Big Issue (Jan 17-23 2005 No. 625). TRENT 2 RENT tells the story about how one man's life changes irreversibly when he is introduced to the chaotic and alienating world of prostitution.

DESPITE ITS challenging subject matter and taboo themes, TRENT 2 RENT defies expectations by showing, in a striking and unexpected way, an insight into the different aspects of the lives of a new breed of 21st century prostitutes.

TRENT SPLITS up with his girlfriend. With nowhere to go he moves in with his good friend Joey. It doesn't take long however before Trent begins to wonder how Joey is managing to make a living - this is especially important to Trent since he is not only loveless and homeless but jobless as well.

JOEY CONFESSES. He explains that he has sex with men for money and that he could easily set Trent up in this lucrative line of business. Trent grows more and more disillusioned at being broke. He is forced to make a choice. He decides to sell his body. Joey quickly introduces him to a string of male clients and the mysterious, underground world of male prostitution.
